Turnover of construction enterprises fell by 1.5 per cent year-on-year in the last quarter of 2013
The turnover of construction enterprises decreased by 1.5 per cent in the October to December period from the corresponding period of the year before. The turnover of specialised construction activities contracted by 2.2 per cent and that of building construction by 1.4 per cent. The turnover of civil engineering grew a little, by 0.2 per cent.
Three months' year-on-year change in turnover of construction (TOL 2008)
The sales volume of construction enterprises was 2.3 per cent down year-on-year in the last quarter of 2013. The sales volume of specialised construction activities decreased by 2.9 per cent. In building construction, the sales volume contracted by 2.1 per cent and in civil engineering by 0.4 per cent.
The volume index of enterprises’ sales is calculated by removing the effect of price changes from the turnover index series.
During 2013, the turnover of construction enterprises went down by 1.9 per cent from the year before. The development was weakest in building construction, where turnover declined by 3.7 per cent last year. Examined by quarter, the turnover of the whole construction sector decreased except for the third quarter. Turnover in the third quarter was nearly 1.7 per cent higher than one year previously. The growth then came from the industries of civil engineering and specialised construction activities.
