Turnover of construction enterprises grew by nearly 7 per cent in the first quarter of 2016

According to Statistics Finland, the turnover of construction enterprises grew by 6.6 per cent and sales volume by 4.6 per cent in January to March. In the corresponding period one year earlier turnover grew by 4.5 per cent.
Three months' year-on-year change in turnover of construction (TOL 2008)
Turnover continued to grow in all construction industries. The growth was strongest in building construction, where 7.4 per cent more turnover was accumulated than one year earlier in January to March. The turnover of specialised construction activities increased by 7.0 per cent and that of civil engineering by 2.1 per cent.
The sales volume of construction enterprises in building construction was 4.9 per cent up year-on-year in January to March. In civil engineering, growth amounted to 4.7 per cent and in specialised construction to 4.4 per cent.
The volume index of enterprises’ sales is calculated by removing the effect of price changes from the turnover index series.
