Turnover of construction enterprises grew by good seven per cent in the last quarter
According to Statistics Finland, turnover of construction enterprises grew by 7.4 per cent in October to December 2016. In the corresponding period one year earlier the growth amounted to as much. The sales volume of construction grew by 4.8 per cent in October to December 2016.
Three months' year-on-year change in turnover of construction (TOL 2008)
Turnover continued to grow in all construction industries. The growth was strongest in building construction, where 10.2 per cent more turnover was accumulated than one year earlier. The turnover of specialised construction activities increased by 6.9 per cent and that of civil engineering by 1.1 per cent.
In 2016, the turnover of construction enterprises grew by 8.6 per cent from the previous year.
The sales volume of construction enterprises grew by 7.5 per cent in building construction and by 4.2 per cent in specialised construction in October to December. The growth in civil engineering amounted to 0.5 per cent.
The volume index of enterprises’ sales is calculated by removing the effect of price changes from the turnover index series.
