Road traffic accidents claimed 19 lives in February
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 270 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in February. In them, 19 persons were killed and 340 persons injured. The number of persons killed was five higher and that of persons injured 16 higher than in February 2015.

Of the persons who were killed, 15 travelled by passenger car, one by van and one by lorry. Pedestrians killed in road traffic accidents numbered four. Among those who died, 14 were men and five were women.
A total of 600 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to February period. In them, 35 persons were killed and 770 persons injured. The number of persons killed was four higher and that of persons injured two higher than in the corresponding period of 2015. Of the persons who were killed, 29 travelled by passenger car, one by van and one by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered four.
