Road traffic accidents claimed 14 lives in February
According to preliminary data of Statistics Finland, 225 accidents involving personal injury happened in road traffic in February. In them, 14 persons were killed and 305 persons injured. The number of persons killed was six higher and that of persons injured four lower than in February 2018. The data were compared with the previous year's preliminary data.

Of the persons who were killed, 12 travelled by passenger car and one by lorry. Cyclists killed in road traffic accidents numbered one. Among those who died, six were men and eight were women.
A total of 517 road traffic accidents involving personal injury happened in January to February period. In them, 27 persons were killed and 690 persons injured. The number of persons killed and injured was the same than in the corresponding period of 2018. Of the persons who were killed, 22 travelled by passenger car, one by van and two by lorry. Pedestrians killed numbered one and cyclists one.
