National accounts time series has been revised
Statistics Finland had made revisions to national accounts for the years from 1975 to 2008. The revisions have been made necessary by new data in the source statistics, changes in the calculation methods and corrections of observed errors. A report of the changes made to the time series can be found in the Methodological descriptions section.
In the main, the revisions lowered the nominal value of gross domestic product from previous estimates, at most by 0.8 per cent in 2006. The largest revisions of value added were made in the activities of transport, trade and construction.
The annual change in the volume of gross domestic product became revised most in 2007 when it grew by 4.9 per cent, while previous estimates had indicated 4.2 per cent growth. In 2008, the volume of gross domestic product grew by 1.2 per cent whereas previous estimates put the growth at 1 per cent. The data on these years are still preliminary. In earlier years, volume changes became revised by 0.5 percentage points at most.
