Corrected on 11 December 2015. The corrections items is indicated in red.
The turnover of the main industries of the environmental goods and services sector was EUR 3.39 billion and value added EUR 1.72 billion in 2014. Employment was 11,485 staff years. Both value added and employment grew slightly compared to the two previous years. The main industries of the environmental goods and services sector are water supply (TOL 36), sewerage (TOL 37), waste management and materials recovery (TOL 38), remediation activities and other waste management services (TOL 39). The data are based on Statistics Finland's renewed statistics on the environmental goods and services sector. The 2014 statistics only contain the main industries of the environmental goods and services sector, but starting from the statistical reference year 2015 the statistics will cover 21 industries. The renewal of the statistics on the environmental goods and services sector is based on they becoming regulation-based (EU Regulation 691/2011, 538/2014 on European environmental economic accounts). The regulation changes the data sources and calculation method of the statistics in Finland. The figures produced with the new calculation method are not comparable with those produced with the old calculation method.
