Changes to prices of Research Services
Statistics Finland is preparing increases to the prices of the Research Services. The changes concern the prices of the data available for researchers and the Fiona remote access system and user fees. The changes will be made in stages over the coming years. The size of the price increases is not yet known. We will release more detailed information about the changes in pricing as soon as possible.
The price increases planned for 2025 concern ready-made data, prices of remote access virtual machines and Fiona user fees. The annual fee for continuously updated ready-made data will rise. The prices of target population extractions from ready-made data and updating extractions will also increase.
Changes will be made to the release of ready-made data subject to a one-off fee. Our selection will no longer include the previously sold total ready-made data updated for one year and subject to a one-off fee. In the following, ready-made data subject to a one-off fee will comprise only the situation at the time of the extraction.
The price increases are due to the fact that the income received from the Research Services does not cover the costs of producing the service. The prices of the data and the Fiona remote access system will be released by the end of November. The prices of user licences are determined by the decree concerning the charge criteria of the performances of Statistics Finland. The Ministry of Finance will issue the decree for 2025 by the end of this year.
