Appointments at Statistics Finland

Statistics Finland has made the following appointments for a Director of IT-management and the Directors of the Population Statistics, Social Statistics, Prices and Wages Statistics and Economic Statistics Departments:

Mr Sven-Folke Björkqvist, Bachelor of Business Administration, has been appointed Director of IT-management for a five-year term starting 1 April 2007. Mr Björkqvist has held the position also for the previous five-year term.
Ms Riitta Harala, Master of Economics, has been appointed Director of the Social Statistics Department for a five-year term starting 1 March 2007. Prior to this appointment Ms Harala has held the position of Director of the Population Statistics Department at Statistics Finland.
Mr Jari Tarkoma, Master of Arts, Master of Laws, has been appointed Director of the Population Statistics Department for a five-year term starting 1 April 2007. Prior to this appointment Mr Tarkoma has held the position of Head of Statistics at Statistics Finland.
Mr Kari Molnar, Bachelor of Social Sciences, has been appointed Director of the Prices and Wages Statistics Department for a five-year term starting 1 April 2007. Mr Molnar has held the position also for the previous five-year term.
Mr Ari Tyrkkö, Bachelor of Social Sciences, has been appointed Director of the Economic Statistics Department for a five-year term starting 1 April 2007. Mr Tyrkkö has held the position also for the previous five-year term.

Earlier this year appointments for similar five-year terms were made for a Director of the IT and Statistical Methods Department, a Director of Information Services, a Director of International Affairs and a Director of Management Services.
