Finnish Immigration Service data available in Statistics Finland's Research Services
NewsDuring summer, the Finnish Immigration Service's residence permit data will be available to researchers in Statistics Finland's Research Services. The data include information on bases for processing and citizenships, for example. The Directors General of the Finnish Immigration Service and Statistics Finland discussed cooperation between the agencies today.
The ready-made datasets on residence permits have been planned for research use with the support of Statistics Finland's Data Room function. During spring, the datasets have been available to researchers in the VATT Data Room and during the summer they will be made available to all researchers in Statistics Finland's Fiona system. In the Fiona system, data can be combined with other Research Services data.
Researchers can search for the data through Statistics Finland's electronic licensing service and they are priced in the same way as other data. The variable description of the first ready-made dataset can be viewed in the Taika catalogue. The dataset contains data on residence permit applications starting from 2011.
