Real estate maintenance costs rose by 8.8 % year-on-year
According to Statistics Finland, real estate maintenance costs rose by 8.8 per cent in the first quarter of 2022 compared to the corresponding period of 2021. These data derive from Statistics Finland’s index of real estate maintenance costs 2015=100.

- Of the cost items, electricity grew by over 30 per cent in a year.

- Examined by type of building, the maintenance costs of industrial buildings rose most, by 15.3 per cent.
Of the cost items of real estate maintenance, electricity costs grew most, by 30.1 per cent. Water supply and sewage costs grew by 3.3 per cent, repairs by 8.3 per cent, heating by 11.5 per cent, waste management by 2.9 per cent, administration by 2.0 per cent, use and maintenance by 2.1 per cent, and maintenance of outdoor areas by 1.7 per cent. Cleaning costs went up by 0.4 per cent and insurance against loss or damage by 9.3 per cent.
