According to Statistics Finland, there were 59,400 completers of comprehensive school aged under 19 in 2021. Forty-one per cent of them continued in vocational education and 53 per cent in general upper secondary education. In all, 1.2 per cent continued in voluntary additional basic education (10th grade) and 3.6 per cent in guidance or preparatory education. In 2021, altogether 1.8 per cent of completers of comprehensive school did not continue in the above-mentioned education. This share is under two per cent for the second successive year.
