Read more about the changeAccording to Statistics Finland energy prices continued to rise in the second quarter. Among power plant fuels only the price of peat fell slightly. Risen prices of transportation liquid fuels and electricity raised the energy prices of consumers.

- The tax-free price of natural gas was in June around three times higher than one year ago.
- Transportation liquid fuels appear to have reached their peak prices in summer. The price of petrol was 57 per cent higher and diesel 64 per cent higher in June than one year earlier.
- A fall in prices was seen only for milled peat, as its taxable price in the second quarter went down by four per cent in a year.
- The total price of electricity for a typical person living in a block of flats was, on average, 15 per cent higher in June and for a person living in a detached house heated with electricity the price was 12 per cent higher than one year earlier. The rise was due to higher prices of electrical energy.
