According to Statistics Finland, the number of students in university of applied sciences education continued to grow in 2022. The number of students attending university of applied sciences education leading to a degree was 164,000, of whom 51,000 were new students. There were 8,000 more students and 2,000 more new students than in the previous year. The number of completed degrees remained almost unchanged at 29,000.

  • A total of 164,000 students attended university of applied sciences education leading to a degree in 2022, of whom 20,000 attended education leading to a master’s degree.
  • Altogether 29,000 degrees were attained, of which almost 5,000 were master's degrees.
  • New students numbered 51,000.
  • The number of students was highest in the field of health and welfare, in which there were 49,000 students.
  • Most degrees attained were Bachelors of Business Administration, with slightly over 5,000 degrees being Bachelors of Business Administration (Economics, Administration and Marketing).
