Nights spent by foreign tourists in Finland increased by one fifth from the previous year in April 2023

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, 1.53 million overnight stays were recorded in April 2023, of which 1.27 million were overnight stays by resident tourists. The total number of overnight stays fell by four per cent from the year before. The number of overnight stays by resident tourists decreased by eight per cent from April 2022 and that of overnight stays by non-resident tourists grew by 20 per cent. However, the number of nights spent by foreigners was 27 per cent lower than in April 2019 before the pandemic.
