Prices of old one-dwelling houses continued to fall in the early part of 2023
releaseAccording to Statistics Finland, prices of old one-dwelling houses fell by 7.0 per cent in the first quarter of 2023 from the previous year and by 3.0 per cent from the previous quarter. In January to March 2023, around 35 per cent fewer transactions of old one-dwelling houses were made than in the corresponding period one year earlier.

Key selections
- Prices of old one-dwelling houses fell especially in municipalities with 20,000 to 59,999 inhabitants. Prices fell less in the municipalities with over 100,000 inhabitants.
- Prices of one-dwelling house plots fell by 3.6 per cent in the whole country from the year before.
- Fifty-two per cent fewer transactions of one-dwelling house plots were made than in the corresponding period of the previous year.
- Around 46 per cent fewer transactions of old one-dwelling houses were made in municipalities with over 100,000 inhabitants than in the corresponding period one year earlier.
- Prices of new one-dwelling houses rose by 7.9 per cent from the previous year and by 0.9 per cent from the previous quarter.
