Average consumer price of electricity rose to a new record level in the last quarter of 2022

Households paid more for electricity than ever before in the last quarter of 2022. The average total price of electricity was 20 to 34 cents per kWh depending on the household's annual consumption. According to Statistics Finland, the rise from the previous quarter amounted to 23 to 26 per cent and from the year before to 41 to 49 per cent. In January 2023, the price of electricity made a clear downturn as stock market prices fell.
