Profitability of enterprises weakened particularly in service industries and construction measured by operating margin in 2022

According to Statistics Finland, enterprises' profitability weakened measured by operating margin in all main industries, particularly in service industries and in construction. Profitability decreased most in service industries (TOL H to S excl. K), where the operating margin percentage went down from 13.5 to 10.7 per cent. The operating margin percentage of construction (TOL F) fell from 6.2 to 4.4 per cent. In manufacturing (TOL B to E) and trade (TOL G), profitability remained almost on level with the previous year, as the operating margin percentage fell by close on half a percentage point.
