Price index of public expenditure 2024, 3rd quarter

Price index of public expenditure rose in local government finances and in central in the third quarter of 2024

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, the price index of public expenditure rose in central government by 3.3 per cent in the third quarter of 2024 compared with one year earlier. The price index of local government finances rose by 2.3 per cent and the price index of basic municipal services by 3.0 per cent over the same period.

Key selections

The rise in the price index of central government expenditure was mainly caused by current transfers.
The rise in the price index of local government finances was mainly due to growth in cost increases of goods and service paid and perosonnel costs.
