Vessels in the regular merchant fleet numbered 687 in January 2024

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, the size of Finland's regular merchant fleet was 687 vessels in January 2024. Small vessels included 283 vessels and barges and other engineless vessels 295 vessels. The total size of the Finnish merchant fleet was 1,265 vessels with a combined gross tonnage of 2,065,875. In January 2024, the number of vessels in the regular merchant fleet increased by five.

  • Compared to the situation at the turn of the year, the number of vessels in the regular merchant fleet had increased by five and the number of vessels in the entire combined merchant fleet by six by the end of January 2024.
  • The Register of Merchant Vessels, in which vessels operating mainly in foreign traffic can be entered, contained a total of 100 vessels in January 2024.
