Seasonally adjusted industrial output (TOL BCD) grew by 0.1 per cent in April from the month before. According to Statistics Finland, industrial output adjusted for working days decreased by 6.7 per cent compared to April 2023.

Changes in output moderate compared to the previous month in nearly all main industries

Adjusted for working days, industrial output (C) declined by 6.6 per cent in April from one year earlier. Output grew by 0.4 per cent from the previous month.

Among the main industries examined in the chart, industrial output grew most in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 8.6 per cent compared to March. Output also grew from the previous month in the forest industry (2.8%) and in the metal industry (1.6%). Output was slightly lower than in the previous month in the food industry (-2.7%), mining and quarrying (-1.2%) and the chemical industry (-0.8%).
