Industrial output decreased month-on-month in September 2024 but increased year-on-year
Seasonally adjusted industrial output (TOL BCD) decreased by 1.1 per cent in September from the month before. According to Statistics Finland, industrial output adjusted for working days went up by 1.0 per cent compared to one year ago.

Output decreased in several main industries in September
Adjusted for working days, industrial output (C) grew by 1.3 per cent in September 2024 from one year earlier. Output decreased by 0.6 per cent from the previous month.
Industrial output grew in September only in a few of the main industries examined in the chart. Output grew by 2.8 per cent in the electrical and electronics industry, by 2.7 per cent in mining and quarrying and by 0.2 per cent in the forest industry from the month before.
Compared to the previous month, output decreased most in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 5.4 per cent. Output fell by 1.2 per cent in the food industry, by 0.8 per cent in the metal industry and by 0.4 per cent in the chemical industry from August.
