According to Statistics Finland, a total of 7,780 new passenger cars were registered in May 2024, which was 18 per cent fewer than one year earlier. In all, 14,199 new vehicles were registered in May. First registrations decreased by 15 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.

  • In January to May period of 2024, a total of 32,393 new passenger cars were registered, which was 14 per cent fewer than one year earlier.
  • Of first-time registered passenger cars in May 2024, 29 per cent were fully electric. The number of their registrations was 2,222, or 32 per cent fewer than one year earlier.
  • Used imported passenger cars numbered 3 749, which was 23 per cent more than one year earlier.
