A total of 4,601 new passenger cars were registered in September 2024

According to Statistics Finland, only a total of 4,601 new passenger cars were registered in September 2024, which was 39 per cent fewer than one year earlier. In all, 8,423 new vehicles were registered in September. First registrations decreased by 32 per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.

Key selections

  • In January to September period of 2024, a total of 55,507 new passenger cars were registered, which was 19 per cent fewer than one year earlier.
  • Of first-time registered passenger cars in September 2024, 40 per cent were fully electric. The number of their registrations was 1,841, or 39 per cent fewer than one year earlier.
  • Used imported passenger cars numbered 3,829, which was 7 per cent more than one year earlier.
