Net income from financial operations of credit institutions operating in Finland was EUR 6.6 billion in 2023

According to Statistics Finland, credit institutions engaged in banking in Finland accumulated EUR 25.3 billion in interest income in 2023, while it amounted to EUR 8.1 billion in the previous year. Interest expenses also grew significantly during 2023, from EUR 3.6 billion to EUR 18.7 billion. In 2023, credit institutions' operating profit was EUR 6.3 billion and their net income from financial operations calculated as the difference between interest income and expenses was EUR 6.6 billion.
