Nights spent by non-resident tourists in Finland increased by 10 per cent from the previous year in March 2024
releaseAccording to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, 1.92 million overnight stays were recorded at accommodation establishments in March 2024. The number of nights spent by resident tourists was 1.39 million and that of nights spent by non-resident tourists 0.53 million. The total number of overnight stays was almost on level with the year before.

- The number of nights spent by non-resident tourists in Lapland was one fifth higher than in the year before.
- The highest numbers of foreign visitors came from Germany, France and the Netherlands.
- The occupancy rate of hotel rooms was 52 per cent, which is on level with March 2023.
- The average price of a hotel room was EUR 127, having been EUR 121 one year earlier. The average price of a hotel room was highest in Lapland, EUR 200.
