Consumer prices of liquid fuels fell in the last quarter of 2023 compared to one year ago

According to Statistics Finland, prices of natural gas, liquid fuels and electricity fell in the last quarter of 2023 compared to the corresponding period in 2022. Correspondingly, prices of forest chippings and milled peat of domestic fuels went up in the last quarter.

  • The consumer prices of liquid fuels fell in the last quarter of 2023 compared to one year ago. The prices have started to return to the level before the energy crisis of 2022.

  • The price of milled peat rose by 20 per cent in the last quarter of 2023 and the price of forest chippings by 23 per cent compared to the last quarter of 2022.
