Students in general upper secondary education numbered 110,600 in 2023

According to Statistics Finland, a total of 110,600 students attended general upper secondary education leading to a qualification in 2023. A total of 30,765 matriculation examinations were completed. The figure was 500 higher than one year before.

  • A total of 598 international diplomas were completed.
  • Fifty-eight per cent of students and 58 per cent of passers of the matriculation examination were women.
