University students numbered 168,000 in 2023

According to Statistics Finland, a total of 168,000 students attended university education leading to a degree in 2023. The number of students increased by 2.7 per cent compared to 2022. The number of new students was 33,000. The number of new students grew by 1.2 per cent from the previous year. A total of 33,400 degrees were completed. The figure was 8.5 per cent higher than one year before.
