Number of university students and degrees grew in 2024

According to Statistics Finland, a total of 173,600 students attended university education leading to a degree in 2024. The number of students grew by 3.3 per cent compared to 2023. The number of new students was 35,200. The number of new students grew by 6.7 per cent from the previous year. A total of 35,900 degrees were completed. The figure was 7.3 per cent higher than one year before.
