Students in general upper secondary education numbered 112,800 in 2024
releaseAccording to Statistics Finland, a total of 112,800 students attended general upper secondary education leading to a qualification in 2024. A total of 30,800 matriculation examinations were completed. The number of qualifications remained unchanged from the previous year.

- A total of 585 international diplomas were completed.
- Fifty-eight per cent of students and 58 per cent of passers of the matriculation examination were women.
