Industrial output remained on level with the previous month but grew from the previous year in May 2025

Output went up in several main industries in May compared to the previous month

Adjusted for working days, output in manufacturing (C) was 5.3 per cent higher in May 2025 compared to one year before. Seasonally adjusted output in manufacturing (C) decreased by 0.7 per cent from the previous month.

Among the main industries examined in the figure, industrial output grew most in May in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 12.8 per cent from the previous month, and in the electrical and electronics industry, by 7.1 per cent from the previous month. Output in the chemical industry was 1.8 per cent higher and in the food industry 0.4 per cent higher than in April. Output decreased most in the forest industry, by 5.7 per cent from the previous month. In the metal industry output declined by 1.1 per cent and in mining and quarrying by 0.5 per cent compared to April.
