Industrial output decreased in September 2025 both from the previous month and from one year back
Seasonally adjusted industrial output (TOL BCD) decreased by 0.5 per cent in September from the month before. According to Statistics Finland, industrial output adjusted for working days went down by 1.8 per cent compared to September 2024.

Adjusted for working days, output in manufacturing (C) was 2.3 per cent lower in September 2025 than one year earlier. Seasonally adjusted output in manufacturing (C) decreased by 0.4 per cent from the previous month.
Among the main industries examined in the chart, industrial output grew in September most in mining and quarrying, by 12.1 per cent from the month before. Output in the chemical industry was 2.2 per cent higher than in August.
Output decreased in other main industries from the month before. Output fell strongest in September in the forest industry, by 4.3 per cent, and in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, by 2.3 per cent compared to August. Output decreased by 1.2 per cent in the food industry, by 0.9 per cent in the electrical and electronics industry, and by 0.4 per cent in the metal industry from the month before.
