Enterprises' EBIT grew in 2024, even though turnover contracted

According to Statistics Finland, the combined turnover of enterprises in manufacturing, construction, trade and service industries decreased by EUR 10.3 billion from the previous year, but EBIT improved by EUR 0.5 billion and rose to EUR 23 billion. Most of the growth was generated from service industries, while EBIT in trade and manufacturing was lower than in the previous year.

  • The turnover of enterprises (TOL B to S excl. K) decreased in total by 2.1 per cent from the previous year in 2024.
  • In 2024, service industries managed to increase their turnover by three per cent.
  • In 2024, the number of enterprises more than doubled in postal and courier activities.
