Turnover in service industries grew by 3.1 per cent in March 2025

According to Statistics Finland, working day adjusted turnover in service industries grew by 3.1 per cent in March 2025 from March 2024. Service output or volume, from which the impact of prices has been eliminated, grew by 1.7 per cent over the same period. In February 2025, turnover grew of 3.2 per cent and volume correspondingly rose by 1.2 per cent. Services are here examined exclusive of trade.

Turnover growing in service industries

In March 2025, growth in service industries was strongest in information and communication, where turnover went up by 6.6 per cent from March 2024. At the same time, the 5.1 per cent rise in the volume of the industry was fastest among service industries. Working day adjusted turnover in professional, scientific and technical activities grew by 5.2 per cent and volume by 2.4 per cent from March 2024.

In other main service industries, development was more subdued than average in service industries. In March 2025, working day adjusted turnover in real estate activities grew by 2.9 per cent and volume by 1.8 per cent. Working day adjusted turnover in transportation and storage rose by 2.5 per cent and volume by 2.8 per cent from March 2024. In the industry of arts, entertainment and recreation, turnover rose by 1.6 per cent from March 2024.

Working day adjusted turnover in administrative and support service activities grew by 0.9 per cent in March 2025, while the volume of the industry contracted by 2.0 per cent over the same period. Turnover in other service activities went down by 0.4 per cent from March 2024. Working day adjusted turnover in accommodation and food service activities fell by 1.8 per cent in March 2025. At the same time, the volume of the industry contracted by 3.2 per cent.

Turnover and volume growing from the previous month

Seasonally adjusted turnover in service industries rose by 0.4 per cent in March 2025 compared to February. Service output or volume, from which the impact of prices has been eliminated, went up by 0.4 per cent over the same period. In February 2025, turnover and volume decreased by 0.5 per cent from January.
