Turnover growing in service industries

In August 2025, growth in service industries was strongest in information and communication, where working day adjusted turnover went up by 5.8 per cent from August 2024. At the same time, the 5.6 per cent rise in the volume of the industry was fastest among service industries. Turnover adjusted for working days in arts, entertainment and recreation grew by 5.2 per cent in August 2025.

Working day adjusted turnover in accommodation and food service activities grew by 2.9 per cent in August 2025, while the volume of the industry went up by 1.3 per cent over the corresponding period. Working day adjusted turnover in real estate activities grew by 2.2 per cent and volume by 1.0 per cent from August 2024. Working day adjusted turnover in professional, scientific and technical activities grew by 1.8 per cent in August 2025. At the same time, the volume of the industry contracted by 0.4 per cent.

Working day adjusted turnover in administrative and support service activities grew by 0.1 per cent in August 2025, while the volume of the industry contracted by 2.2 per cent over the same period. In August 2025, the working day adjusted turnover of other service activities went down by 1.9 per cent from August 2024. Working day adjusted turnover in transportation and storage fell by 2.1 per cent and volume by 1.4 per cent in August 2025 from the year before.

Turnover and volume growing from the previous month

Seasonally adjusted turnover in service industries rose by 0.8 per cent in August 2025 compared to July. Service output or volume, from which the impact of prices has been eliminated, went up by 0.2 per cent over the same period. In July 2025, turnover decreased by 0.5 per cent and volume by 0.2 per cent from June.
