New orders in manufacturing grew by 2.7 per cent year-on-year in April 2025
According to Statistics Finland, the value of new orders in manufacturing was 2.7 per cent higher in April 2025 than twelve months earlier. The value of new orders received by enterprises during January to April was 6.7 per cent higher than one year ago.

Changes in the examined main industries
Enterprises received more orders in April 2025 than twelve months ago in the manufacture of paper and paper board products and in the metal industry. Most growth was recorded in the industry of the manufacture of paper, and paper and board products, where the value of orders was 11.7 per cent higher than one year ago. The value of new orders in the metal industry was 1.4 per cent higher than one year earlier. New orders in the chemical industry declined by 6.3 per cent from one year earlier.
When interpreting these statistics, it should be borne in mind that they typically show strong fluctuations by month. Even new orders of substantial value are not examined over extended time periods but for the statistical reference month only.
