Output of the national economy grew year-on-year in December 2024

According to Statistics Finland, output adjusted for working days grew by 0.9 per cent in December 2024 from the previous year’s level. In December, seasonally adjusted output remained on level with the previous month. Working day adjusted primary production grew by 17.8 per cent, secondary production by 1.9 per cent and service industries by 0.0 per cent from December 2023.

  • Adjusted for working days, output went up by 0.9 per cent in December 2024 from December 2023.
  • Seasonally adjusted GDP grew in the fourth quarter of 2024 by 0.1 per cent from the previous quarter.
  • The number of employed persons increased by 0.6 per cent and the number of hours worked increased by 2,1 per cent from the previous quarter.
  • In future, the trend indicator of output will be published at an accelerated rate.
