Entrepreneurial income from agriculture improved slightly in 2024

According to Statistics Finland, entrepreneurial income from agriculture totalled EUR 1,137 million in 2024, which is 5.3 per cent higher than one year earlier. The value of output of agriculture remained almost on level with the previous year despite the fall in producer prices. The prices of production inputs decreased by an average of around five per cent, as a result of which the value of intermediate consumption was nearly four per cent lower than in the year before.

  • The decline in the value of output of milk production was revised in the final data for 2024 to 6.8 per cent as a result of the adjustment payments to producers.
  • The volume of poultry output increased by 3.2 per cent from the year before.
  • The value of output of oil crops and protein crops grew due to a rise in volume despite a considerable fall in producer prices.
