Income share of housing costs grew, burdening by housing costs unchanged in 2023

According to Statistics Finland, the income share of households' net housing costs was 17.4 per cent, on average, in 2023. The median figure was 1.3 percentage points higher than in 2022. Housing costs burdened 5.2 per cent of persons belonging to private households in 2023. This corresponds to around 287,000 persons. The number was approximately the same as in 2021 and 2022.
