release | Households' assets 2024According to Statistics Finland, 2.02 million persons owned mutual funds or listed shares at the end of 2024. Altogether 36.7 per cent of the household-dwelling population were owners. The number of owners grew by around 82,000 persons from 2023.

- At the end of 2024, altogether 36.7% of the household-dwelling population owned mutual funds, listed shares, or both. The number of owners was 2,021,210.
- Mutual funds were owned by 30.3% of individuals. Among women, the share (30.0%) was almost the same as among men (30.6%).
- Listed shares were owned by 16.7% of individuals. The share was higher for men (20.2%) than for women (13.3%).
- Ownership of mutual funds or listed shares was most common in the 35–44 age group (42.4% of individuals).
- The median value of the holdings among those owning mutual funds, listed shares, or both was about EUR 6,000 at the end of 2024.
