Number of nights spent at accommodation establishments grew by 3 per cent in October 2025 from the previous year

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, 1.69 million overnight stays were recorded at accommodation establishments in October 2025. The number of nights spent by resident tourists was 1.30 million and that of nights spent by non-resident tourists 0.39 million. The total number of overnight stays increased by three per cent from the year before.

  • The number of overnight stays by resident tourists went up by one per cent from the previous year in October 2025.
  • The number of nights spent by non-resident tourists at accommodation establishments increased by eight per cent from the year before. The highest number of foreign nights were from Germany, Sweden and the United States.
  • The occupancy rate of hotel rooms was 53 per cent and the average price of a hotel room was EUR 115. The average price of a hotel room was highest in Pirkanmaa, EUR 130.
  • The average prices of hotel rooms include value added tax, which has been 14 per cent since 1 January 2025. In 2024, the VAT rate for accommodation services was 10 per cent.
