National economyAccording to Statistics Finland, consolidated total general government expenditure was 57.7 per cent relative to gross domestic product in 2024. The share of expenditure of gross domestic product grew by 1.8 percentage points from the previous year. Measured in euros, expenditure grew most in the function category social protection and measured in percentages, it grew most in defence.
