Share of biofuels in energy consumption in road transport was 13 per cent in 2024

According to Statistics Finland's preliminary data, energy consumption in road transport rose by 0.2 per cent in 2024. The consumption of diesel fuel decreased by two per cent and that of motor gasoline rose by three per cent from one year ago. The share of liquid biofuels in energy sources of road transport was 12 per cent, which was four percentage points lower than one year earlier. The consumption of electricity in road transport rose by 39 per cent.
