Building costs increased by 1.8 per cent in May 2026 year-on-year

According to Statistics Finland, building costs increased by 1.8 per cent in May 2026 compared to the previous year's corresponding period. Among materials, the biggest cost increases in the year were recorded in house equipment (5.9%) and in electricity, control, lighting and lift supplies (4.6%). Costs decreased most in the year in soil (-5.3%) and in ventilation supplies (-1.5%).
