Number of persons adopted as minors decreased again in 2025

According to Statistics Finland, there were 270 adoptions in Finland in 2025. The number of adoptions was five per cent lower than one year before. In all, the number of adoptions has fallen by 44 per cent from 2010. Especially adoptions of minors have decreased. Only fewer than one half of adoptions, or 46 per cent, were adoptions of persons aged under 18.
