According to Statistics Finland, a total of 4,949 new passenger cars were registered in February 2026, which was 3 per cent more than one year earlier. In all, 8,267 new vehicles were registered in February. First registrations increased by one per cent from the corresponding month of the previous year.

  • In January to February period of 2026, a total of 10,411 new passenger cars were registered, which was one per cent fewer than one year earlier.
  • Of first-time registered passenger cars in February 2026, 44 per cent were fully electric. The number of their registrations was 2,189, or 40 per cent higher than one year earlier.
  • In all, 1,720 new petrol-fuelled passenger cars were registered in February, which was 13 per cent fewer than one year earlier.
