Number of comprehensive schools continued declining in 2025
releaseAccording to Statistics Finland’s register of providers of education and register of educational institutions, there were 837 active providers of education and 3,045 educational institutions at the end of 2025. There were 1,922 active comprehensive schools.

- Measured by average, the largest educational institutions were located in Uusimaa, where comprehensive schools had an average of 356 pupils.
