Industrial output decreased month-on-month in April 2026 but increased year-on-year
releaseSeasonally adjusted industrial output (TOL BCD) decreased by 2.6 per cent in April from the month before. According to Statistics Finland, industrial output adjusted for working days went up by 1.9 per cent compared to April 2025.

Adjusted for working days, output in manufacturing (C) grew by 1.1 per cent in April 2026 from one year earlier. Seasonally adjusted output in manufacturing (C) decreased by 1.5 per cent from the month before.
Industrial output decreased in April from the previous month in nearly all main industries examined in the figure. The fall was strongest in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply, where output was 8.2 per cent lower than in March. Output decreased in mining and quarrying by 6.8 per cent and in the chemical industry by 3.9 per cent from the month before. Output also fell from the previous month in the forest industry (-2.1%), in the food industry (-1.7%) and in the metal industry (-1.3%). Only the electrical and electronics industry generated slightly more output than in March (1.7%).
