Turnover in service industries grew by 2.6 per cent in December 2025

Turnover growing in service industries

In December 2025, growth in service industries was strongest in information and communication, where working day adjusted turnover went up by 5.0 per cent from December 2024. At the same time, the 5.5 per cent rise in the volume of the industry was fastest among service industries. Working day adjusted turnover in accommodation and food service activities grew by 3.6 per cent and volume by 2.3 per cent from December 2024. Turnover adjusted for working days in arts, entertainment and recreation rose by 3.3 per cent from December 2024.

In December 2025, working day adjusted turnover in professional, scientific and technical activities increased by 2.6 per cent and volume by 3.2 per cent. Working day adjusted turnover in administrative and support service activities grew by 2.4 per cent in December 2025, while the volume of the industry went down by 0.5 per cent over the corresponding period. Working day adjusted turnover in transportation and storage rose by 1.3 per cent in December 2025. By contrast, the volume of the industry fell by 2.5 per cent from a year earlier.

Working day adjusted turnover in real estate activities grew by 1.1 per cent and volume by 1.3 per cent in December 2025. The working day adjusted turnover of other service activities went up by 0.8 per cent from December 2024.

Turnover in December on level with the previous month and volume fell

Seasonally adjusted turnover in service industries remained in December 2025 on level with November. Service output or volume, from which the impact of prices has been eliminated, also fell by 0.7 per cent over the same period. In November 2025, turnover rose by 0.8 per cent and volume by 0.5 per cent from October.
